Intranced consists of musicians from the latest wave of classic metal that has emerged on the US East Coast (members of Fortress and Poisoned Chalice, among others), and singer James-Paul Luna (formerly of Holy Grail and White Wizzard). After just one EP and single, the band is one of the hottest newcomers on the scene.
You can see the reason for this when you listen to the six pieces from their debut album Intranced (2022) and the two songs from Rogue Warrior (2023), because the quartet from L.A. combines dazzling musicality with sublime songwriting, which is what their music has basically been like right from the start makes it indestructible.
"I wanted to start an old-school metal project that still had a rock feel," explains singer Luna. "Like the time when hard rock was slowly turning into metal, but still contained groove, funk and boogie." Whether it's traditional US power metal combined with rock'n'roll grandiosity like in 'Upside Down', the punk attitude of the otherwise wistful epic 'Dream Lover' or the fast-paced band anthem 'Intranced' - Intranced sets the bar incredibly high with their first eight songs.
Crowned with a cover by legendary artist Michael Whelan, the EP is now available on vinyl for the first time ever, including a bonus Rogue Warrior to help lead the time until the release of Intranced's first album later in 2024.
