The new album, "Empire of the Blind", picks up where the acclaimed album trio "Breaking the Silence" (1987), "Victims of Deception" (1991) and "The Evolution of Chaos" (2010) left off, but pushes the boundaries of aggression, melodic and toughness. The idea behind "Empire of the Blind" was to create a full-length album that encompasses all eras, with a clear attitude, complemented by compact, focused songwriting. In essence, these are the classic "Heathen", but with improved musical knowledge and economy.
"Empire of the Blind", written between 2012 and 2019 by guitarist/songwriter "Kragen Lum" at Six-Stringer's Studios, is a true thrash metal "tour de force". "Empire Of The Blind" was recorded, produced, mixed and mastered mostly by Christopher "Zeuss" Harris at Planet Z Studios - with guest contributions from Gary Holt (EXODUS, SLAYER), Rick Hunolt (Ex-EXODUS) and Doug Piercy (Ex-HEATHEN). Additional recording work was done by guitarist Kragen Lum at SubLevel Studio in Little Rock, Arkansas. Travis Smith (OVERKILL, EXHORDER) was responsible for the cover artwork of "Empire Of the Blind".
The current line-up of the 1984 founded thrashers from the San Francisco Bay Area HEATHEN consists of EXODUS guitarist Lee Altus, frontman David White, guitarist Kragen Lum, bassist Jason Mirza and drummer Jim DeMaria.
