Description

Gabrielle de Val began her career in the rock scene in Madrid, where she won several major Spanish competitions with her first band, Villa de Madrid. Music gradually became a very important part of her life.
In 2011, she released her first full-length album, "Back," with her band, The Val, taking advantage of the then-emerging social media platforms that allowed the band to be heard beyond its borders. The album was distributed and supported by major media outlets such as Classic Rock Magazine and Fireworks Magazine, which enabled the recording of a second album, "Heading for the Surface" (2015), and a third, "King Ocelot" (2020), all of which received excellent reviews from the music press.
With The Val, Gabrielle performed major concerts, played at festivals, toured England, and had the opportunity to sing live alongside international rock greats such as Robert Tepper (Rockingham Fest, 2015).
In 2022, Circle of Friends released "The Garden," a record produced by Bruce Mee (editor of Fireworks Magazine) and Khalil Turk (Escape Music). On this album, the singer performed an original song written by Mikael Rosengren entitled "When He's Gone," which received critical acclaim. This album featured her collaborating with several artists who would later contribute to her first solo album, "Kiss in a Dragon Night." Gabrielle's first solo album was born when Bruce Mee listened to the album "Back" to write a review for Fireworks Magazine. Somehow, over time, the title track inspired him to want to record an entire album. Together with producer Khalil Turk (Escape Music), he shaped the idea and created an album featuring vocalists such as Steve Overland (FM), Mick Devine (Seven), Robin McAuley (Michael Schenker Band), Mark Boals (Yngwie Malmsteen), and Terry Brock (Strangeways), as well as musicians such as Gary Pihl (Boston), Eric Ragno (Joe Lynn Turner), Johan Kullberg (HammerFall), and Fredrik Folkare (Nordic Union).
Following her debut solo album, Gabrielle began work on her second album, "Cry Wolf," 18 months ago. However, due to production delays, Gabrielle and Bruce Mee took advantage of the waiting time to write a number of songs together. Tommy Denander took on the role of producer/musician and led the recording. The creation of a completely new album, named after one of these new songs, "I Am The Hammer." Bruce and Gabrielle are the authors of almost all of the album's tracks, with the exception of "Show Me Heaven," written by Tommy Denander himself, and "Princess of Darkness," which was written by Mee with Roland Forsman of the Swedish band Remedy and is sure to delight fans of that band.

Gabrielle and her band have played live in both Spain and England over the past year, including at the first Tower of Fire Festival and the revamped Firefest 2024. Several shows are already planned for 2025, and with the new album "I Am the Hammer" already recorded and "Cry Wolf" due to be completed in the coming months... 2025 is shaping up to be a very important year for the Spanish-German singer!
