2013, this solo debut is really unexpected but also in a way, very overdue. John Fannon was a member of the AOR band New England, which had its heyday between 1978 and 1982, including the single "Do not Ever Wanna Lose Ya" which was played on radio a lot. Their second album Explorer Suite 1980, is according to me and several others one of the best AOR albums ever made with its pompous style and amazing songs. After that it has been very quite from the members unfortunately until now when guitarist John Fannon release this solo album. However, this is no successor to New England, this solo album is more like a singer/songwrite stuff. There are some similarities actually as New England had some Beatles influences, but it's on this album Saved All The Pieces he really takes the step out. It really smells like McCartney and Lennon over the record that is very well written and tasteful in its style. Nice guitar playing and great power-pop songs. Check out you got a good taste for music, which includes both New England and the Beatles. CD comes without booklet in a slip case.
