2011, Deep Purple survived a seemingly endless series of line-up changes and a dramatic mid-career shift from grandiose progressive rock to ear-shattering heavy metal to emerge as a true institution of the British hard rock community; once credited in the Guinness Book of World Records as the globe's loudest band, their revolving-door roster launched the careers of performers including Ritchie Blackmore, David Coverdale, and Ian Gillan. The PHOENIX RISING-DVD is packaged with a live audio CD (Live in Japan 1975). The DVD has a documentary (titled Getting' Tighter); this was originally a sort of ´making of` COME TASTE THE BAND, with studio knob twiddling, interviews, and footage of Deep Purple Mk 4, but is now extended to tell the story of the Mk 4 tour.
