Description

CREMATORY are an undeniable authority in Gothic Metal and even after more than 30 years in the scene, the band proves once again why they continue to be one of the best in the genre with their new album Inglorious Darkness, out May 27, 2022 via Napalm Records. After 15 studio albums, three live albums, various compilations and splits, as well as hundreds of headlining shows and festivals around the world, the band partially returns to German lyrics on the new album. Not only do they present new songs in German, but also a German version of their absolute classic "Tears of Time", which is currently called "Tränen der Zeit" on the new album. The groundbreaking track, which was originally released on the album Illusions (1995), avenged to a cult song of the whole in the Gothic Metal genre and now celebrates its glorious new edition with German vocals on Inglorious Darkness.

Inglorious Darkness begins with the title track "Inglorious Darkness" - a dark gothic metal anthem that sets the mood for the album as a worthy opener. "Break Down The Walls" is an exceptional hit song that wraps a smooth melody with rock 'n roll drums and gets stuck right in the listener's head. Felix's clean vocals stand out in the verses, mixing with powerful growls in the chorus. "Trümmerwelten" stands out with a lyrically illustrated dystopian scene, while opulent keyboards build epic melodies into orchestral and symphonic soundscapes underscored by heavy drum elements. The monumental career highlight "Tears of Time" shines in a new light in the German version. The original is always one of the highlights of the band's famous live shows. With the German lyrics, new life is breathed into this classic and lets the listener wallow in melancholy and nostalgia. In tracks like "Sound Of My Life" and "Not For The Innocent", the proven use of keyboards with electronic elements stands out, while songs like "Das Ende" invite headbanging. These numbers shine with pounding drums, hammering energy and the German lyrics reinforce the Industrial Gothic Metal aura of the familiar CREMATORY sound.

With Inglorious Darkness, CREMATORY prove that their passion burns stronger than ever and that even after more than 30 years, they are a fundamental part of Gothic Metal worldwide.
