Champlin, Williams, Friestedt II

If you like classic mainstream rock and AOR, you'll get your tongue clicking when you hear the names of the musicians involved in this Californian supergroup. Guitarist/keyboarder Bill Champlin was a member of the legendary Chicago band for 28 years and sang some of their greatest hits. Joseph Williams was Toto's front man from 1986 to 1988 and again from 2010 until the band broke up in 2019, and finally, the Swede Peter Friestedt is a session guitarist and producer. He played for jazz-funk genius Nils Landgren, among others. The three men have known each other for ages and have worked together on various projects. Together, the trio released a highly acclaimed album in 2015, which is now followed by the much better second album. The album features guest appearances by singer Michael McDonald, drummer John JR Robinson (Michael Jackson, Quincy Jones), Randy Goodrum (Toto, Chicago), Tamara Champlin and Diane Warren, winner of the Polar Prize 2020.
