Description
When Black Pumas released their self-titled debut in 2019, the Austin duo sparked a reaction almost as extraordinary and captivating as their music itself. Celebrated by the media, they received a total of 6 Grammy Award nominations (including Best New Artist and Album of the Year). In addition to live performances at the aforementioned Grammy Awards, Eric Burton and Adrian Quesada also played at the broadcast of the NFL Draft and at the inauguration of Joe Biden. They toured throughout Europe as well as North and South America and were seen on well-known late-night shows such as Jimmy Fallen, Jimmy Kimmel, Ellen DeGeneres and Stephen Colbert. Her album has sold over a million copies, and her single "Colors" alone now has over 450 million streams. Now it's time for the band to start its second chapter. Now their new album "Chronicles of a Diamond" is released on ATO Records.
The new songs were created in the studio, but they definitely capture the crazy energy that arises during the two's live shows. This ends in a special hybrid of soul and symphonic pop that was composed crazier and more extravagant than its predecessor. Including unexpected excursions into jazz-funk and psychedelic realms with hypnotic rhythms, wild guitar riffs and atmospheric Mellotron melodies that radiate a trance-like euphoria.
Produced by Quesada and primarily mixed by six-time Grammy Award winner Shawn Everett (Alabama Shakes, The War on Drugs), Burton also takes on the role of co-producer on the ten songs, infusing his free-spirited musicianship into each track
