2014, HEAVY METAL SANCTUARY, the album that Battleaxe never thought that they would complete is finally finished. It has been a long, hard road against almost impossible odds and the band hopes that everyone out there is as pleased with the result as they are. The songs are total Battleaxe and the production is better than Battleaxe could have hoped for with a limited budget. The album was recorded at Trinity Heights/Pillarbox/Sound Inc Studios in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and mixed by Fred Purser (Ex-Penetration and Tygers Of Pan Tang). The current line-up of Battleaxe features original members Dave King (vocals) and Brian Smith (bass), alongside Mick Percy (guitar) and Paul Atkinson (drums). The quartet began working on the album early in 2011 after a re-formed Battleaxe played Wacken Open Air Festival in 2010. Digipack.
