2017, THE SOURCE is an exciting new chapter in the Ayreon saga, with contributions from renowned vocalists like James LaBrie (Dream Theater), Simone Simons (Epica), Floor Jansen (Nightwish), Hansi Kürsch (Blind Guardian), Tobias Sammet (Edguy, Avantasia), and Russell Allen (Symphony X). The seventeen tracks that are on the double album are split into four chapters or Chronicles with individual subheadings to cater for the storyline. The album kicks off with the longest track on the whole of the double album entitled ,,The Day That The World Breaks Down". This twelve and half minute epic prog rock track is a very powerful song that combines and fuses heavy metal and rock rhythms and comes with a very tasty blues lead guitar solo. Arjen has almost practically threw in his complete artillery of singers and musicians into this opening song and it works superbly. The story opens up like we're in a desolate place surrounded by a storm and there is hardly anybody left upon whatever planet they are on
