Description
ARION are THE newcomers in the Finnish melodic metal scene! The guys around mastermind and guitarist Iivo Kaipainen are believed to be able to repeat the great successes of their compatriots Stratovarius or Sonata Arctica. ARION are also stylistically pushing in this direction, but enriching this sound with fresh ideas, a contemporary sound and their own note. The participation of Amaranthe singer Elize Ryd - who could be won for the duet "At The Break Of Dawn" - is currently the most successful track in the catalogue of the young Finns with almost 3 million spotify streams.
ARION (with the exception of singer Lassi Väräänen, who joined the band in 2015) have been active in the same line-up since 2012. After participating in the ESC preliminary decision for Finland 2013 (with the track "Lost") all eyes were on the talented band (whose members weren't even of age yet). In 2014 a contract with the Finnish label Ranka Kustannus led to the ARION debut album "Last Of Us" - with which the very young band could celebrate their first success across national borders. Such sophisticated Melodic Power Metal, perfectly produced as well as virtuosic and mature, was not expected from a group of 18- and 19-year-olds. ARION even made it to Japan in the same year, where they played the huge Loudpark Festival.
The last 3 years the band has used to gain even more live experience and to further perfect their songwriting. The result is now available in form of the new album "Life Is Not Beautiful", with which ARION and their new label partner AFM Records will for the first time cause a stir worldwide.
