2013, From the frantic drum fill to the sweep-laden solo, album opener and title track, ,,Thundergod" packs an instant punch as it serves up some terrific thrash metal. It's a fantastic opening statement from the band that there is life after David Ellefson, who left the band in 2010 to reunite with Megadave. There is a slight momentum stutter on the second track, ,,Sondrio", slowing the pace down a little and adding more orchestral dwindlings. It does however, set the scene for the rest of the album. Sonically, this band have drawn many comparisons to Manowar in both THUNDERGOD and their debut release KINGDOM OF EVIL, and quite rightly so. Ex-Manowar skin-whacker Kenny ´Rhino` Earl is the true creative driving force in this band, with all writing credits going to him. New vocalist Diego Valdez, who replaced former Fifth Angel man David Fefolt, provides some Dio-sized vocals and likewise lyrical themes.
