Alicate formed in the 80s and returned after a long hiatus, with several albums from 2009 onwards, including Butterfly (2022) and Heaven Tonight (2024). During the pandemic, Jonas Erixon wrote music for both Alicate and other well-known artists. In 2025, keyboardist Marcus Zerath joined. The new album Too Bad to Be Good continues the band's melodic rock style with strong hooks and collaborations with Pete Alpenborg.
