"Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken"... this song title from the new TORIAN album 'God Of Storms' could also symbolize the history of the band. The Paderborn-based Power Metallers have shown perseverance and unconditional will since their foundation in 2002 and with a lot of passion and enthusiasm TORIAN have been able to achieve a considerable status in the underground over the years. Now, in 2018 and with their fourth studio album, the band is making a qualitative quantum leap: the group around singer Mark Hohlweck has never known such a sophisticated, catchy and anthem-like band before. God Of Storms' is a welcome surprise; an album with which TORIAN don't have to hide from international stars.
Producer Seeb Levermann (Orden Ogan, Rhapsody Of Fire, Brainstorm), who was brought on board for the EP 'Phantoms Of The Past', which was released in 2016, has done a great job and so the ten new tracks - most of them written by guitarist Carl Delius - develop an immense radiance. It's rare to hear an album that is so catchy, but shows no signs of wear even during the umpteenth run.
