Gessle Per Small Town Talk

"Small Town Talk" is a new chapter for one of the most successful songwriters of the last three decades. As chief songwriter for Roxette, Per Gessle has written global chart toppers such as "The Look", "Listen To Your Heart", "It Must Have Been Love", "Joyride" and "How Do You Do", to name but a few. In autumn 2016 he went to Blackbird Studios in Nashville to work with long-time musicians Christoffer Lundqvist, Clarence Ofwerman, Anders Herrlin and Helena Josefsson, and a series of songs written mainly in Swedish in the months following Roxette's retirement. "We went there with an open mind and my very rudimentary acoustic demos to see what kind of meeting between my songwriting and the Nashville musicians could take place. The local musicians were more than welcome to influence the arrangements and productions to their taste. And the result was magical. Some of the moments in the studio gave you goose bumps, and I love duets, and this album has eight duets of thirteen songs. It offers a new perspective for writing
of lyrics and opens exciting arrangements", says Gessle.
