Description

Recorded in early 1986 at London's Matrix Studios, "The Force" was the successor to "Power From Hell" (originally released on Children Of The Revolution Records and recently re-released on High Roller Records). Compared to the early Death Metal style of "Power From Hell", the second Onslaught album "The Force" marked a slight change in style, which the fact that the vocals of newcomer Sky Keeler were a little more melodic and were created. Thrilling thrash metal songs like "Let There Be Death", "Contract In Blood" or "Fight With The Beast" were arranged more complex and also made the hearts of fans of the first Metallica albums beat faster. One of the absolute highlights on "The Force" is the track "Metal Forces", a tribute to the London underground metal magazine of the same name by Bernard Doe.

Produced by Dave Pine and intended by Roy Rowland, "The Force" received an award from the English
Press excellent reviews (as well in German magazines like Rock Hard or Fanzines like Iron Pages). Although Onslaught was founded in Bristol in 1982 and was originally from the Hardcore and Punk scene, they formed together with Acid Reign, Re-Animator, Slammer and Xentrix at the end of the eighties the spearhead of UK Thrash Metal.

"The Force" was originally released in 1986 on Under One Flag, a sublabel of Music For Nations, the light of the world and was out of print for years.

Only recently Onslaught performed "The Force" live for the first time during their "Full Force" anniversary tour.
