The Finnish singer/bassist Marko Hietala will release his upcoming solo album "Pyre Of The Black Heart" via Nuclear Blast, which will be released on January 24th, 2020. Hietala himself describes the style of the new album as "Hard Prog".
About his goals for the new solo album Marko Hietala just says, "Let me put it this way: NIGHTWISH is without a doubt my main band and thanks to the income from this source I haven't thought much about the commercial aspect... What I want to say is that when I collected my ideas for this solo project, I knew absolutely no limits. So if I had a goal at all, it was simply not to set limits for myself, but instead to create an unpredictable, spontaneous, adventurous, wild and intimate solo album. And when I now listen to the finished album myself, I can honestly say that I - or rather we - made it... The record is a truly multifaceted rollercoaster ride that transports eager listeners into a world of deep emotions and strong feelings!
