The sound of Flight is strongly influenced by the heavy rock of the late seventies, inspiration
is especially available from Judas Priest, Di'Anno-era Iron Maiden, Winterhawk, Saxon, but also from
progressive British acts like Camel and Pink Floyd.
After another 7" single for Bad Omen Records, Flight started looking for a new label. Bassist Jonas Bye: "High Rollers were definitely our first choice, we didn't contact any other label. Now I'm just proud that Flight will soon appear in the same catalogue as so many other great metal bands on HRR".
With their second album "A Leap Through Matter" Flight are indeed making a quantum leap, the increase compared to their debut is nothing less than breathtaking. Jonas Bye explains: "Almost the entire first album we still have in triple line-up during the first two or three months directly after our foundation. On A Leap Through Matter. we took a lot more time, the material is much more complex in terms of arrangements, riffing and song structure. The new album was collective, it was a very fruitful creative process. The biggest difference between the first and the second album is the complexity of the song material. Young bands who still have to develop often try out new things, I think that with "A Leap Through Matter" we have achieved an increase. We've gone through the process of natural development. Nowadays, compared to our early days, we simply write the more interesting pieces in terms of dynamics both in guitars and vocals.
