Swansong was founded in Kuopio, Finland in 2020. The band's founders, former Up Yours punk singer Jemiina and Verjnuarmu guitarist Topi Pitkänen, got together and started making music together. Swansong brings something new to the metal scene, combining melodic death, heavy and folk metal, to name a few. The powerful melodies with hard-hitting riffs bring the 80s and 90s to life. Old school elements get a new twist with female death growls and screams.
Enter the Swansong world - tales of midnight warriors, strong maidens and cold, frosty winds! The members of the band are experienced musicians from bands such as Verjnuarmu, Tornado, Carnal Demise and Omniversum and the songs have been in the works since 2020.
The Finnish melodic death metal newcomers Swansong released their first EP Winter Maiden on February 25th, 2022, produced by Mathias "Vreth" Lillmåns (Finntroll, ...And Oceans, Dispyt). Swansong aims to continue creating its own world full of great melodies, stories and visuals, which has already received great response from listeners around the world.
