2010, Spirit Descent hails from Germany and exists for one sole purpose: to play traditional epic doom metal in the vein of the greats that inspired them. The guitar of Andreas Libera produces thick, heavy riffs, supported by deep-sounding and hard-hitting drums and a bass that secures all this to stay low and solid. The vocals of Jan Eichelbaum are clean and slightly high-pitched, with an occasional anguished groan. Lovers of epic doom metal should still lend their ears to this record, because there are plenty of neat songs and inspired passages to be found in their DOOMINION.
