Some bands play heavy metal. And some bands are heavy metal. The Slovenian strikers from SkyEye are currently the best example of this. With their third album "New Horizons", the sworn brotherhood is officially and successfully applying for the position of guardians of the one true music.
Since their founding in 2014, SkyEye have been diligently building their role as global ambassadors of heavy metal. And that in itself is no small feat for a band from Slovenia with its lively but shamefully underrepresented international scene. But SkyEye will change that - with verve, perseverance and the best traditional heavy metal you've heard in a long time. Their latest work "New Horizons" puts a huge exclamation mark behind their iron will to spread the gospel of the one true heavy metal: SkyEye combine the grandeur of Iron Maiden with the power of Judas Priest and the youthful verve of the first Hammerfall. In 2021, Metal Hammer named the band "Newcomer of the Year". SkyEye may have been around for a decade, but New Horizons feels like a real beginning, a first milestone of many to come.
