Description
"C'mon You Know" - the title of Liam Gallagher's upcoming album has already become a catchphrase, as the Brit has been using the phrase to end his tweets for months. And it actually fits almost every time.
The single "C'mon You Know" already shows what the album has to offer: rousing gospel backing vocals in Motown style, a screeching saxophone by Vampire Weekend's Ezra Koenig von and vintage Moog synths make for a solemn and uplifting sound, in which Liam's lyrics also fit in seamlessly: "I'm sick of being tough? he comes around the corner with a new and surprising perspective, and also calls us to "start living, be thankful? and "show love? Instead of always being combative and belligerent, his words are brimming with positive vibes and the joy of being reunited with friends, family and fans: "C'mon, you know it's gonna be alright/ And we're gonna dance all night/ C'mon on you know/ Get up, stand up if you feel alive/ I only wanna see you smile/ C'mon on you know". In addition, Liam collaborated on the song "Everything's Electric" with none other than Dave Grohl (Foo Fighters, Nirvana), who played the drums. Such collaborations have also been few and far between in the past.
We can look forward to a versatile, mature, positive and fresh album of the Englishman, which nevertheless remains true to Britrock. Just what Liam can do best - C'mon you know.
