John Terry Norum is guitarist with Europe, which he founded together with singer Joey Tempest in 1979. Norum played on the first three Europe albums. In November 1986 he left the band due to artistic differences. He was dissatisfied with the keyboard-heavy production of the album 'The Final Countdown', and with the band's new commercial hairspray metal image. Since the band's reunion in 2003, the guitarist is again a member of Europe.
His first solo album 'Total Control' was released in 1987 and featured the title 'Back On The Streets' written by Vinnie Vincent, which was released in 1986 by Vincent's band Vinnie Vincent Invasion on their debut album. Norum has since released numerous other studio and live albums. These include 'Another Destination' and 'Face The Truth' (including Glenn Hughes on Vocals) which will be made available via classic rock specialist Rock Candy.
