In the '80s, Scottish rock 'n' roll warriors Heavy Pettin stormed stages worldwide, while their 1983 debut album, Lettin' Loose, threatened to blow up the rock world. They were considered the natural successors to the highest echelons of rock, touring internationally alongside the likes of Ozzy Osbourne and Mötley Crüe as wild lads from Glasgow. Then life intervened, and Heavy Pettin took a three-decade hiatus. Listening to Heavy Pettin's first new studio album since 1989's Rock Generation feels more like a 30-week hiatus, coupled with a towering sense of self-belief.
