2014, Flyleaf's third album NEW HORIZONS was released in 2012. Shortly before the album's release, lead vocalist Lacey Sturm announced her departure. Flyleaf and Kristen May found each other at just the right time. You could chalk it up to serendipity. Pulled together during a mutual moment of uncertainty, the frontwoman and the band's original core Sameer Bhattacharya (guitar), Jared Hartmann (guitar), Pat Seals (bass), and James Culpepper (drums) immediately thrust themselves into creating what would become the group's fourth full-length album, BETWEEN THE STARS. That new beginning also entailed another first for the group, the production talents of the iconic Don Gilmore (Linkin Park, Three Days Grace, Avril Lavigne). With Don Gilmore behind the board, they captured a certain magic that proved both passionate and palpable.
