Description

For a famous rock guitarist like Eric Gales, it can be both a curse and a blessing to be lumped together with over-father Jimi Hendrix again and again. More often than once, the US American was told that he was too strongly attached to Hendrix's cosmos of sound, for example after the release of his albums "Crystal Vision" (2006) and "Psychedelic Underground" (2007). This is one of the reasons why Gales' 2017 comeback record "Middle of the Road" marked an important turning point: Stylistically absolutely independent, on the crisp produced album he swirled rousingly between Power Rock and Psychedelia, Blues, Funk and Soul - unmistakably the message: Where Gales is written on it, Gales is in it too! With "Middle of the Road" he achieved one of the greatest successes of his career, which is reflected among other things in a placement in 4th place of the American billboard blues charts and the top of the blues charts on iTunes. The same notch as "Middle of the Road" is now being played by Eric Gales together with Mono Neon (bass) and Aaron Haggerty (drums) on the new longplayer "The Bookends". The preproduction of the album was made by David Bianco (Tom Petty, Bob Dylan, Ozzy Osbourne, etc.) in California, who unfortunately died unexpectedly after a severe stroke, Matt Wallace (Faith No More, Maroon, etc.) perfectly completed his work as producer of 'The Bookends'. Guest appearances come from B.Slade as well as Beth Hart and Doyle Bramhall II.
