Duarte, Chris Ain't Giving Up

On "Ain't Giving Up," which features a wide range of outlaw blues, Americana, roots and even alt-country influences, the Austin, Texas guitarist collaborates for the first time in 22 years with producer-guitarist Dennis Herring, also known for his work with artists such as Buddy Guy, Modest Mouse, Elvis Costello and the Hives. Recorded live in the studio with vintage equipment and minimal overdubs, it's a raw and revved-up demonstration of the virtuoso's breathtaking skills, his mastery of the elusive Texas shuffle and his deep love and devotion to the blues. 'Ain't Giving Up' is intimate and gritty, but also has an unadulterated sonic quality, as if we as listeners were in the studio with Duarte and his friends.
