Widow from London (also known as a ritual) made for the first time in 1983 in the course of the NWOBHM-movement when their self-titled debut album on Legend Records appeared. At that time Re Bethe (guitar, vocals), Phil Mason (bass) and Rex Duval (drums) has been active for ten years. Their very first live performance found in September 1973 at the Café des Artistes on Fulham Road in London.
When Widow (or Ritual) finally released their record in 1983, the NWOBHM has already passed its peak. "We saw what happened to the other bands."Re Bethe puts it on record. "We felt this movement in a certain way. I've connected them in a wise way. People often compared us to Samson, Quartz or Pagan Altar. Basically, however, we belonged to an earlier generation, which already before the Punk Revolution and was now confronted with the difficulty of landing work. It was almost impossible to get a deal, it was even impossible to get any distribution for the record."
High Roller Records is proud to announce the official re-release of the legendary "Widow" album, including the legendary "Naked Witch" - original cover. The CD was carefully remastered by Patrick W. Engel and comes with four bonus tracks "Temptation", "Forever", "House Of Secrets" and "Into The Night.
