Description

A triumphant album by ALS/Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis-suffering musician and composer Jason Becker! Featuring Special Guests Steve Vai, Joe Bonamassa, Marty Friedman, Joe Satriani, Paul Gilbert, Greg Howe, and many more!

If you talk about the current output of an artist who basically belongs to Hardrock and Metal, it might seem strange to describe his work as going to the heart. With Jason Becker, however, the case is different. This not only because Becker plays with the heart as a symbol in the title and artwork of his new album and which contains on "Triumphant Hearts
the soft side of a piece. But above all because it borders on a miracle that in the early 1990s the guitarist of singer David Lee Roth achieved world fame and that for a long time severely handicapped musicians have been able to make themselves heard in this way. This is made possible by state-of-the-art technology and numerous top-class colleagues who did not allow themselves to be asked for their support for long. The result is an album that touches the listener all the more, the more often you listen to it. The now 49-year-old American first appeared internationally when he, supported by successful producer Mike Varney, founded the metal duo Cacophony together with the later Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman. Together they brought with them the melodic solos, high tempo (shredding) and neoclassical scales shiny albums "Speed Metal Symphony" (1987) and "Go Off! (1988). Guitar World magazine ranked "Speed Metal Symphony" among the ten best shredding albums ever in an article from 2009. Cacophony toured the USA and Japan before Becker left the band and started his solo career with the 1988 album "Perpetual Burn". Until today "Perpetual Burn" is regarded as a reference for the unmistakable Becker sound thanks to lightning fast runs and arpeggios, unusual time signatures and exotic scales. Later followed the longplayers "Perspective" (1996), "The Raspberry Jams" (1999), "The Blackberry Jams" (2003) and finally, almost exactly ten years ago, a compilation with previously unreleased tracks called "Collection" (2008).
