Pinkish Black's new album "Concept Unification" is the band's most adventurous record yet, each of the six tracks explores the innermost depths of forward-thinking doom rock, while psychedelic undertones collide with dark, oppressive violence. Brooding synthesizers on the title track of the opening track of "Concept Unification" give way to threatening melancholy on "Dial Tone", while progressive rock waves on "Petit Mal" demonstrate Pinkish Black's ability to manipulate dark moods. The album's last song, "Next Solution", presents a dark, contemplative piano performance in the middle, before it degenerates into a dramatic chord swirl and rhythmic slaughter. "Concept Unification" is an independent music beast that talks about themes like fear, senselessness and emptiness and positions Pinkish Black as important for the independent scene.
