Description

Black Oath were founded in 2006 by A. Th (vocals, bass, guitar) with the aim of celebrating dark and obscure metal in the style of Ozzy Osbourne, Iron Maiden, Mercyful Fate, Celtic Frost and Venom. Born in Italy, A. Th also feels inspired by the local scene with groups like Black Hole, Death SS, Paul Chain and Goblin. In addition comes a pinch of Prog-Rock. After numerous EPs and tapes Black Oath are ready to release their fourth album "Behold The Abysss". After numerous EPs and cassettes Black Oath are ready to release their fourth album "Behold The Abysss" via High Roller Records.

"It's our best album", sums up A. Th. "At first we weren't sure if we'd release "To Below". And Beyond" would still be able to top at all. But we did it. The record contains all our influences and also a lot of Prog-Rock, basically more Prog-Rock than ever before. That sounds like it in the end, so if Ozzy makes music together with Goblin/PFM would. At the other end of the spectrum there's a number like "Once Death Sang", which is played by the
female vocals has a slight gothic touch in front of them. According to A. Th this is by no means a coincidence: "We love dark music like Siouxsie, The Cure, Fields Of The Nephilim, Nick Cave, Scott Walker and medieval Tiamat. After being fascinated by King Diamond's 'Puppet Master' for years, I wanted to try out a vocal duet myself. So I asked Elisabeth from Riti Occulti if she was ready for it. The piece sounds like a mix of the King and Siouxsie.
