The Jaded Hearts Club is the supergroup of front men Nic Cester (Jet) and Miles Kane (The Last Shadow Puppets), guitarists Graham Coxon (Blur) and Jamie Davis, and Matt Bellamy (Muse) on bass and drummer Sean Payne (The Zutons).
Jamie Davis, a British guitarist in L.A., wanted to book a Beatles cover band for his birthday party. "I realized that I know a bunch of halfway decent British musician friends who live in L.A., so I thought I'd ask if they wanted to get together and form a Beatles band (..)". The debut concert was a big surprise, and on their second appearance they raised the bar even higher: Stella McCartney asked Bellamy if the band would play during her fashion show in L.A. From Quincy Jones to Katy Perry, James Corden to Ringo Starr were all present. And then the unbelievable happened; Paul McCartney strolled on stage and performed Hearts through "I Saw Her Standing There" and "Helter Skelter".
Bellamy and Davis the band began working on an album produced by Bellamy at Red Room Studios. The band focused on recording lost classics from the world of Northern Soul, complemented by their raw, soulful interpretations of some famous standards from that time. The Jaded Hearts Club continue the tradition started by bands like the Beatles and the Stones - finding great soul and blues standards and
to record them in a more modern style.
