The full-length debut "Decadence and Decay" from Portland, US-based dark power metal band SILVER TALON showcases the gripping combination of heavy metal hooks and guitar-driven virtuosity that has driven the band since their formation in 2017. The album is the follow-up to their 2018 EP "Becoming A Demon." SILVER TALON was born from the ashes of the disbanded Spellcaster (ProstheticRecords). Guitarist Bryce VanHoosen joined forces with fellow ex-Spellcaster memberSebastian Silva - who also plays guitar for goth rockers Unto Others (formerly Idle Hands) - to keep the flame of heavy metal burning together, backed by the rasping vocals of Wyatt Howell.
Influences from classic acts like King Diamond, Judas Priest, Nevermore/Sanctuary and Savatage underpin the lyrical content, which blends a fascination with occult themes and demonology with a dystopian cyberpunk aesthetic.
