Dordeduh Har

DORDEDUH land a big surprise with their second album. "Har" is clearly metal, but it eludes pigeonholing by breaking new ground beyond genre boundaries. The expectation from guitarists and founders Edmond "Hupogrammos" Karban and Sol Faur aka Cristian Popescu saw a work somewhere between black metal and dark folk. That is indeed where "Har" is rooted, but DORDEDUH have unabashedly borrowed from electronic, gothic, rock, psychedelic, prog, and even pop, among others - provided it serves the song at hand. In terms of milestone, Hupogrammos and Sol Faur thus become repeat offenders. Both were leaders in the composition of NEGUR? BUNGET's masterpiece "Om", which put Romania on the map of metal. After their departure, the duo from Timi?oara formed DORDEDUH and delighted fans and critics first with the EP "Valea omului" (2010) and two years later with their debut album "Dar de duh" (2012). At the same time, a local element is always inherent in their music. In addition to the obvious use of Romanian, there are subtly interwoven melodies and rhythms, as well as traditional instruments. Another smart move proves to be the fact that DORDEDUH entrusted the mix and mastering to the acclaimed soundsmith Jens Bogren, who has precisely captured the individual strength of such diverse artists as OPETH, DIMMU BORGIR, KATATONIA, MOONSPELL, DEVIN TOWNSEND and IHSAHN. The Swede has polished this diamond to perfect brilliance. "Har" is a milestone - far beyond Romanian metal. With their artistic quantum leap, DORDEDUH promise to submit one of the most exciting metal albums of the year.
