Für den 26. April 2019 kündigen die Local Natives ihr neues Album ,,VIOLET STREET" an. Die grundlegende Frage, die über den ersten zwei Single Auskopplungen ,,When Am I Gonna Lose You" und "Café Amarillo" sowie den weiteren acht neuen Tracks steht, lautet: ,,With all the chaos in the world, where do you find shelter? ""I got married last year", sagt Taylor Rice (Gesang, Gitarre). "I found myself in an incredible relationship that was great on so many levels, but I always felt like it was going to go away, fall apart,and crumble. This song is me diving into murky emotions of anxiety and doubt in the middle of loveand joy.""Violet Street" als Gesamtkonzept vereint ein klassisches Studio Umfeld, eine sehr moderne Produktion und aufwändigen Visuals. Das Ergebnis ist ein zeitloses Album, welches die für die Band charakteristischen, dreistimmigen Harmonien nicht vermissen lässt. Das in Los Angeles ansässige Quintett entwickelte seinen glückseligen Klang in drei Alben Gorilla Manor (2009), Hummingbird (2013) und Sunlit Youth (2016).
