Es ist das siebte Album der Briten und folgt dem vor acht Jahren erschienen Album ,,Paragon of Dissonance" nach. ,,A Pyrrhic Existence" wurde in den Priory Recording Studios in Birmingham von Sänger und Gitarrist Greg Chandler aufgenommen, der auch die Produktion über hatte. Das Cover-Artwork stammt von Lisa Schubert. Zum Album meint die Band: ,,"A Pyrrhic Existence" is an album that deals with some of the darkest sides of the human psyche and the harsh realities of existence. The music is a progression from previous albums, and is of an extremely psychedelic and experimental nature."
